hospital and public building projects

More than sixty projects since 2012, roughly seven in ten of them medical. Below are the building types we work in and three deliveries described without naming the client — our default until written permission is in hand.

A record built in healthcare

Most of our work is hospital interior fit-out: general hospitals, maternity and children's facilities, mental health units, rehabilitation centres and elder care. These are buildings where the wall, ceiling and floor are not a finish decision but an operational one — cleaning regimes, infection control, equipment routes, and wards that cannot be emptied for a refurbishment.

The mix matters commercially: a hospital buyer asks for phasing, cleaning and a report behind every claim, and those habits transfer to a school or a terminal without renegotiation.

That pressure is what shaped the way we work. One contract covers all three surfaces, so the junction between floor and wall base, or between ceiling grid and wall head, has a single owner instead of three trades pointing at each other. Phasing is written into the programme before production starts, not improvised once the site is open.

Transferred to public buildings

The same constraints appear in public buildings: continuous operation, heavy traffic, and ceilings that have to be opened repeatedly for services. We have delivered into an airport terminal, a high-speed rail station, a civic cultural centre, a data centre, and training and conference facilities.

In those buildings the specification usually shifts towards the ceiling and wall package — large uninterrupted areas, demountable access above, and a surface that can be cleaned without repainting. Packages there are often procured mid-programme, when the base build is running late, so setting-out has to follow the structure as built rather than the drawing. Our GRP antibacterial ceiling panels suit that brief; the glass-fibre acoustic range takes over where sound absorption is the driver rather than moisture.

Where the projects are

Deliveries concentrate in Shandong — Jinan, Qingdao, Linyi and Weifang — and extend into Guizhou, Shanxi and Zhejiang. Our own installation teams work on domestic contracts, and the setting-out drawings, method statements and site sequencing are produced in-house rather than subcontracted to a distributor.

All of these projects are in China. We do not present domestic work as overseas experience.

Three projects, described without names

Healthcare · wall, floor, ceiling

A 1,200-bed tertiary teaching hospital, Shandong

8,000 m² of wall, floor and ceiling delivered in 30 days without closing a single ward. Night shifts, ward-by-ward handover and one contract for three surfaces.

Project reference on request
Healthcare · phased refurbishment

A maternity and children's hospital, Shandong

Occupied throughout, so the programme ran room by room. Class A medical clean wall panels on a dry-fixed modular system, B1 homogeneous PVC flooring, and acoustic ceiling where consulting rooms needed speech privacy.

Public building · ceiling and wall

A regional transport terminal

GRP antibacterial ceiling panels on a concealed triangular grid, specified for 0.3% water absorption and for a grid that opens repeatedly for services above. Wall panels matched at column and bulkhead junctions.

What the three have in common

  • One contract for wall, ceiling and floor, so junction responsibility sits with us.
  • Phasing and night work agreed in the programme, not discovered on site.
  • Panels cut to the setting-out drawing and labelled by room to match the installation sequence.
  • A submittal pack in which every claim carries its test report, and every gap is stated.

Why the names are withheld

Hospital clients do not want to appear in a supplier's marketing, and public projects carry their own approval process. So we describe building type, scale and method, and hold back the name. Named references and client contacts are released with written permission, project by project — usually during a tender, to shortlisted suppliers.

If you need a reference for a specific building type, ask. We will tell you what we have delivered in that category and arrange whatever the client permits. Photographs follow the same rule: no client interior is published without approval.

What we do not claim

We do not attach a client name to a project without permission, we do not round a project count upwards, and we do not describe work in regions where we have not delivered. Where a figure is an approximation — the healthcare share, for instance — it is written as one.

Ask for a reference in your building type

Tell us the building type and the surfaces; we will say what we have delivered and what the client allows us to share.
